Why?
Various indices have compelled us to realise that this era in Nigeria is the season of musical arts revival and entertainment boom. Different sectors of our economy have exhibited a selective concentration on musical arts for their social responsibilities, promotions, competitions and etc. Even the President of Nigeria also donated the sum of $ 200m (N30b) to promote the same. Unfortunately, there has been so much concentration on the promotion of “the arts” but with unconscious negligence on the development of “the artistes.” The reason is the short supply of professional training institutions and the trainers. The manufacturing industries, telecommunications, media, foods & beverages, breweries etc have all testified to this assertion by their various multi-million sponsorship of the following musical arts programmes:

MTN (Project Fame)
Etisalat (Nigerian Idol)
Mr Biggs (Big Melody)
Maltina (Street Dance)
Peak Milk (Next Superstar)
Nigerian President, Goodluck Jonathan ($200m to promote Music)
Lucozade Boost
Nigerian Idol (Optima Media Group)
Salsa Dance
Festival of Nigerian Choir
Mr Glo Rock “n” Rule (Globacom)
Malta Guinness Street Dance
Star Quest (Nigerian Breweries)
